About This Service

HIPAAITSecurityTraining.com provides web-based HIPAA security awareness training and assessment for healthcare professionals, business associates, and organizations subject to HIPAA requirements or seeking to understand them. The platform delivers a scored assessment and issues a certificate of completion to individuals who pass.

By registering for or using this service, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use this service. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Individual Use

The training and assessment are available to individuals at no charge. Users receive access to the training material, the assessment, and a certificate of completion upon passing. No ongoing service, storage access, or support beyond these deliverables is guaranteed to individual users.

You are responsible for completing the training yourself. The certificate of completion reflects your individual completion of the assessment. Allowing another person to complete the training under your name, or completing it under another person's name, is a misuse of this service.

An optional feedback survey is available after completing the training. Survey responses are anonymous unless you choose to provide your email address to allow follow-up on your feedback. Email addresses provided via the survey are deleted within 90 days. Providing feedback does not affect your completion record or certificate.

Completion records are maintained for individuals who have registered and completed the assessment. HIPAAITSecurityTraining.com does not guarantee that records will be retrievable in all circumstances, including system errors, data loss, or requests made after the applicable retention period.

By registering for and completing this training, you grant HIPAAITSecurityTraining.com the right to share your completion record (including your name, professional credentials, and pass/fail status) with organizations that have entered into a written agreement with us for access to workforce completion records. We do not independently verify the requester's organizational relationship to you or their authority to receive your record. We are not responsible for how records are used once provided.

Organizational Use

Organizational licensing and reporting services, including access to completion records for workforce compliance documentation, are available under separate written agreement. Contact Licensing@HIPAAITSecurityTraining.com for details.

No Compliance Guarantee

This training is provided for educational purposes. Completing this training does not guarantee that you or your organization is in compliance with HIPAA, any other federal or state law, or any regulatory requirement. Whether this training satisfies your organization's workforce training obligations depends on your organization's own policies, risk analysis, and compliance program.

HIPAAITSecurityTraining.com makes no representation regarding any individual's or organization's regulatory compliance and accepts no liability for any compliance determination, enforcement action, security incident, penalty, or related consequence.

Accuracy of Content

Training content is reviewed for accuracy and updated periodically. However, HIPAA regulations, cybersecurity best practices, and related guidance change over time. HIPAAITSecurityTraining.com does not warrant that all content reflects the most current regulatory requirements or security standards at the time you complete the training. Content should not be relied upon as legal advice.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Attempt to circumvent, reverse engineer, or interfere with the platform or its authentication systems
• Submit false registration information
• Use automated tools to complete the assessment
• Seek or receive assistance from any other person in completing the assessment
• Reproduce, republish, distribute, or disclose assessment questions or answers without written permission
• Use the platform in any way that violates applicable law

Intellectual Property

All training content, assessment questions, and platform materials are owned by HIPAAITSecurityTraining.com and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any platform content without prior written permission. The certificate of completion is issued for your personal compliance records and may not be altered or misrepresented.

Privacy

Your use of this service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which describes what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We do not collect health information or payment information. We do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers. Completion records may be provided to organizations under a written agreement as described in the Individual Use section above.

Disclaimer of Warranties

This service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. HIPAAITSecurityTraining.com does not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of security vulnerabilities. Platform availability depends in part on third-party infrastructure providers.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, HIPAAITSecurityTraining.com and its owner shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use this service, including but not limited to any regulatory action, compliance failure, or security incident. Total liability for any claim arising from this service shall not exceed the amount you paid, if any, for the specific service giving rise to the claim.

Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. However, if your completion records are subject to a separate agreement between HIPAAITSecurityTraining.com and an organization, disputes involving those records may be governed by the terms of that agreement, which may specify a different jurisdiction.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
